Friendly & helpful hotel - we intend to stay again

We arrived to a helpful & efficient reception able to answer our questions courteously & efficiently. Even though only staying one night, our two rooms were upgraded in size, without a mention, from twin to triple & were spacious & clean apart from carpet which had some dirt stains. Bed linen was clean & bathroom updated with heated towel rail & plenty of clean towels & nice toiletries. Kettle, tea & coffee in room with TV & hairdryer provided. We unexpectedly asked to have evening meal with guests & able to easily arrange with no fuss & very helpful & happy to arrange. Restaurant staff were attentive & friendly & surprisingly food much better than expected with items on menu to suit all in family party & food presented well & very good including vegetables & portions generous. Table arranged for group of 8 no problem but we were only ones there at that time! Bar & lounges comfortable & able to sit & relax there before and after meal. Breakfast too was pleasantly served with plenty of choice (more than often in hotels) & food plenty & well cooked & presented with extra toast & hot drinks offered. Car park available to guests - a bonus in Ryde! Hotel on road up from beach front & pier & central to shops, pubs, resort front & transport links. Excellent value for money when booked through Laterooms. Thank you to all at Yelf's.

3 Star Hotel 5 Star Food

Friendly pleasent staff, would not have wanted a room at the front because of the location of the bar next door- double galzing and air con would much improve Yelfs but for £65 per night you wouldn't expect that. The restaurant was fantastic. We eat out frequently and both myself and my husband agreed that it had been on of the best dining experiences for us.

Yelfs Has A Personal Touch

My wife, I and a close friend sadly had to travel to the Isle of Wight for a funeral on the 7 June 2013. I selected this hotel with no research at all due to the short notice. Well, the hotel was superb in all respects, but what made it so nice was the friendliness of all of the staff. I have to say a very special thank you to Julie for arranging the rooms, but also a big thank you to all the receptionists, the two bar lads on the Thursday night after we arrived (fabulous sense of humour), and to the lovely person who served us breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings; sorry I did not get your name.

I thought the personal touch had been lost in this country but it certainly has not in this hotel. Thank you again and I really hope we get the opportunity to visit you again for a happier occasion.
